SALTWATER COLD PLUNGES

THE COLD BUCKET
A different kind of cool.
There’s another way to meet the cold. Our cold bucket brings a splash to your visit, right inside the cold plunge room.

Before you take a seat.
What is the difference between a cold plunge and an ice bath?
Both involve immersing your body in cold water, a practice called cold-water immersion. An ice bath typically uses added ice, while a cold plunge doesn’t need visible ice to provide the cold-water experience. At Ritual, you’ll find saltwater cold plunge tubs and a cold bucket for another way to experience the cold.
Can I try a cold plunge if I’m a beginner?
Yes. You don’t need previous cold plunge experience to visit Ritual. Let our team know it’s your first time so they can explain how to use the space and the posted guidance. Take your time, keep your first exposure brief and remember that staying in longer isn’t the goal.
Can I use the sauna and cold plunge during the same visit?
Yes. Your Open Flow visit includes access to Ritual’s saltwater cold plunges, traditional saunas and full-spectrum infrared sauna with red light. Explore the amenities at your own pace, with time to dry off and rest in the lounge or tea room between experiences.
What should I bring for a cold plunge visit?
Bring a swimsuit and comfortable clothes to change into afterward. Ritual provides complimentary towels for your flow and for your shower. Coded lockers, private showers, changing rooms, body wash, shampoo and conditioner are available so you can freshen up before heading out.
What is the cold bucket at Ritual?
The cold bucket offers a brief cascade of cold water instead of immersion in a plunge tub. Located in Ritual’s cold plunge room, it gives you another way to experience the cold during your visit. Ask our team how to use it before your first splash.
Can I visit Ritual on my own or with friends?
Both. Come on your own for time away from your routine, or make a cold plunge in Baltimore part of your plans with friends. Ritual’s shared wellness spaces let you explore the saunas and saltwater cold plunges, then spend time together in the lounge or tea room.
